Awesome.
Does your product have a fun story behind it? If so, what is it?
I designed this pillow in honor of Jake Sloma, who pulled a David Hasselhoff and created his own nickname, "Awesomely Awesome". Thankfully, he lives up to the hype.
How do you envision people using your product?
Decorating their love chamber or placing it on their living room couch.
What's your favorite thing about your product?
When I drew the type I first thought that I wanted it to be perfectly smooth and vector. I ended up using a scan of the original pencil drawing and really like the texture that came through.

What do you do at Real Art?
At Real Art, I develop our strategy and approach to projects, write proposals, meet with clients and work closely with our creative teams.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work or creating fabulous goods for Real Mart?
When I'm not at work or creating fabulous goods for Real Mart, my favorite thing to do on a weekend or extended vacation is to pack my suitcase and head out of town for a concert or down time with friends. Northern Michigan is insanely beautiful—I look forward to cruising the small town of Glen Arbor and hiking the Sleeping Bear sand dunes every summer.
What drives you to make the things you’re selling on Real Mart?
The creative buzz that happens during our Christmas gift exchange, where everyone has to make their gift, is very inspiring. Real Mart is extending that energy throughout the year.
What creative project are you currently brainstorming?
We're currently making the next generation of Ford cop cars look badass.
Who has been your greatest inspiration(s)—professionally or creatively (or both)?
My twin brother Joe has always been into art and had an eye for design. He knew who Chip Kidd and Art Chantry were before I did and decided to focus on design in high school. I hung with him and have had the bug ever since.
What music do you like to listen to when you’re working?
It's always changing, but lately it's been Broken Social Scene, Phoenix, Spoon and The National.
